Bio

Melissa came to Fontbonne as a freshman out of Hazelwood Central High School
during the 1997-98 school year. For the next four years, Melissa would serve as the starting point guard on the Griffins basketball team.

During her freshman season, Melissa scored seven points a game but led the Griffins in assists, averaging more than three a game. As just a freshman, Melissa was in the top lO in the conference in steals and assists a game. Her freshmen year she earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

In her sophomore season, Melissa averaged 11 points a game while once again leading the team in assists and leading the team in steals. Melissa finished second in the SLIAC in steals and third in assists during that year. She earned Second Team All-Conference honors that year.

In her junior year, Melissa averaged 13 points a game while once again leading
her team in assists and steals. Those numbers earned her First-Team All-Conference honors. During her senior season, Melissa again led her team in assists and steals while averaging more than 13 points a game. She was again was voted to the SLIAC First-Team All-Conference.

At the time of induction, Melissa held the single season record for most steals with 108 and
career record for most steals with 301. During her four years at Fontbonne, her team won the SLIAC Championship every year while compiling a 43-3 conference record and a 83-21 overall record.
