Fontbonne Cheer Earns Second Place Finish At The DTU Virtual College Championship
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University cheer team competed at its first ever Dance Team Union Virtual College Championships and walked away with a second place finish.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University cheer team competed at its first ever Dance Team Union Virtual College Championships and walked away with a second place finish.
"We couldn't be more pleased as a program with the result, but we're determined to get a higher score at Nationals in just under a month," said head coach Ashley Johnson.
Fontbonne competed in the co-ed cheer division totaling a score of 55.87. Fort Scott CC took home the win with a score of 68.47.
The team will be heading to Orlando, Fla., to compete at the DTU College Classic National Invitational April 9-10th. They'll be up against Springfield College, Upper Iowa University, St. Ambrose, and Independence Community College.
If you'd like to see their performances before they leave for the National Competition, the Spirt Squads are hosting a send-off showcase on April 3rd at 6 p.m., in the main gym. Performances will include all three dance routines, cheerleading, and mascot.
