Game Breakdown
Like Saturday's game against Eureka, the Griffins started fast taking a 20-5 lead at the 11:18 mark on Anthony Jones' layup. Principia kept battling and cut the deficit to 30-26 with 7:28 remaining on Jake Kampf's 3-pointer.
Over the final seven minutes, the Griffins put some distance between themselves and Principia closing out on an 18-9 run to take a 48-35 lead into the break.
Fontbonne shot 50.0 percent from the floor with Elijah Rice already leading with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting.
In the second half, a 3-point play from Caden Clark and a layup from Anthony Jones gave Fontbonne a commanding 61-37 lead with 16:17 remaining.
Principia, though started to chip away at the lead over the next eight minutes and eventually got it down to 73-66 on Shemarri Miles 3-pointer.
However, the Griffins answered with a 10-1 run over the next three minutes with Will Suellentrop's layup putting Fontbonne once again ahead by double-digits, 83-67. Fontbonne remained in control the rest of the way going on for the 19-point win.
