Men's Basketball Picks Up Overtime Road Win Against Eutectics

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University men's basketball team snapped its three-game slide on Saturday with an 84-80 overtime win over University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy.
In the first half, the Eutectics had the Griffins in a 19-12 hole at the 9:33 mark. Fontbonne battled back and eventually took a 28-27 lead on Adam Painter going 1-of-2 from the line at the 2:48 mark.
The Eutectics, though got a 3-pointer from Trae Meny with just over one minute left giving them the 32-30 lead at the break.
Fontbonne shot 33.3 percent from the floor in the first and held a 23-12 rebounding advantage. Will Suellentrop led all scorers with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
In the second half, the Eutectics took a 47-36 lead with 15:46 remaining after Landon Engelage made both free throws. Fontbonne chipped away at the deficit over the next eight minutes and eventually took a 64-63 lead after Brent Wagner made both free throws.
After back-and-forth play, the Eutectics led 71-69 with just 44.0 seconds left. The Griffins responded with a Jaden Betton layup to tie the game and two made free throws from Ethan Chatrand with 26.0 seconds left giving them the 73-71 advantage.
However, the Eutectics tied the game to force overtime with 3.0 seconds on the clock after Jason Udolisa made his layup.
In overtime, the Griffins opened with a 4-0 advantage with Betton's layup giving them a 77-73 lead. They never relinquished the lead from there going on for the win.
