Will Pruden & Zach Goers lead men's golf at Midwest Region Classic
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne sophomore Will Pruden and senior Zach Goers led the Griffins at the Midwest Region Classic this weekend. This year the regional meet was held at Eagle Ridge Resort on the South Course in Galena, Ill.
Pruden led the Griffins on day one with an 86 while freshman Max Connor was one stroke behind at 87. On day two, Goers shot a team-low 80 for the two-day tournament with Pruden shooting 82. Both tied for 109th after shooting a two-day total of 168.
Sophomore Sam Kaminski was in the middle of the Griffin pack shooting 88 and 89 respectively. Michael Kanan shot 90 on both days while Connor struggled on his second outing with a 95. Kyle van Rossum O'Connell made his collegiate debut, shooting as an individual. He ended one stroke behind Connor after shooting 93 in the first round and 90 on day two.
The Griffins will travel to Decatur, Ill. for the Hopkins Golf Collegiate Classic at the Country Club of Decatur on Sept. 30th.
