Griffins perform well at SLIAC Invitational
Elsah, Ill. - Both the men's and women's indoor track and field programs saved their best performances for the SLIAC Invitational. The men finished fifth and the women finished fourth on the campus of Principia College. Spalding University was the only team not required to participate at this year's meet. Next year the excitement of having a full-fledged conference sponsored championship will be outstanding.
This year, we were fortunate to have two conference champions, Katie Gosser (Women's Pentathlon) and Raven Venegas (Women's Weight Throw). There are two weeks left of the indoor season, and eight athletes will continue competing at the last chance meets for an opportunity to advance to the NCAA Indoor National Championships. The rest of the roster will start to transition for our outdoor campaign that will kick-off at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tenn. March 17-18.
