At 125, Daniel Bauer took on Isaac Bourge (Quincy) in his opener and Bourge won by fall. In his next match, Bauer faced Keno Vanier (Augsburg) and it was Vanier advancing by 7-0 decision.
Diego McCormick also competed at 125 and in his first match he fell by major decision against Seth Padavic (Eureka). McCormick squared off against Tyler Evitts (Aurora) in his next contest and Evitts won by fall.
At 133, Kody Kretzer dropped his opener by fall against Joshua Robison (North Central). Then, against Jack Connell (Quincy) it was Connell winning by major decision.
Cameron Varner picked up an opening pin fall win against Maxwell Carrier (Baldwin Wallace) in his first match at 149. Against Javen Estrada (North Central), though Varner fell by fall. In his consolation bracket match, Varner fell by major decision against Josh Dorr (North Central).
Bradyn Rawlins dropped his first match by fall at 149 against Braulio Flores-Gardner (North Central). Rawlins went on to be defeated by Caleb Magruder (North Central) by technical fall.
At 157, Joe Beck dropped his match by decision against Hunter Rudzinski (Wisconsin-Whitewater). Against Zachary Finch (North Central), Beck fell by fall in his second match of the day.
Harry Rodriguez was another Griffin competing at 157 and he fell by major decision against Lukas Paulson (Augsburg) in his first match. Rodriguez went on to face Hunter Rudzinski and fell by major decision.
At 165, Connor Morin dropped a tough 5-2 decision against Bilal Vasty (North Central). Later, he fell by fall against Max Sokolski (Augsburg).
Hassan Fofana competed at 174 and dropped his first match by fall against Brandt Bombard (Augsburg). Fofana later fell by fall against Brock Neill (Eureka) in the consolation match.
At 197, Jake Flowers took on Elijah Brockie (North Central) and Brockie won by fall. Flowers faced Jeremiah Feddeler (Wheaton) in his next match and Feddeler won also by fall.
