Women's Soccer Wins 13th Straight On Rainy Night Against Principia
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s soccer team won its 13th straight game on Tuesday after knocking off Principia, 5-1. The Griffins shutout streak ended at just over 1,141 minutes of action which is a SLIAC record.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team won its 13th straight game on Tuesday after knocking off Principia, 5-1. The Griffins shutout streak ended at just over 1,141 minutes of action which is a SLIAC record.
The scoring got started for the Griffins in 18th minute when Katie Leeker got the ball in the box and found Krystal Kohenskey who beat Renea Garza for the 1-0 lead.
Prior to the half ending in the 38th minute, the Griffins were awarded a penalty-kick and Leeker came through with the goal putting Fontbonne ahead 2-0 at the break.
In the second half, the Griffins extended its lead out to 3-0 when Kohenskey dribbled it up the right side and crossed it over for Alyson Carroll who buried the one-timer shot past Garza.
In the 57th minute, the Griffins were awarded a second penalty-kick with Bianca Cortez-Perez this time taking it and scoring making it a 4-0 game.
Principia ended the Griffins shutout streak in the 67th minute on a penalty-kick goal, but Fontbonne answered right back two minutes later with Beth Kasten scoring off an assist from Kohenskey to make it a 5-1 final.

- Kohenskey's goal was her 14th on the season. Her two assists tie her career-high of 14.
- Leeker's goal was her fourth on the year and it was her first assist on the season.
