Six Griffins Earned All-Conference Awards
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University women's soccer team had eight six players earn SLIAC All-Conference awards, the conference office announced.
Emma Anselm, Katie Leeker, Caitlyn Smith, and Libby Bateman were selected First Team. Bianca Cortez-Perez earned Third Team.
Allyson Jones was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Emma Anselm, a junior forward from St. Louis, Mo. was selected First Team-All Conference. She started in 16 of 17 games played and leads the team with seven goals. She also had two assists on the season and recorded 16 points. Anselm is currently ranked sixth in the SLIAC with 46 shots, and seventh in shots on goal with 26.
Katie Leeker, a junior midfielder from St. Louis, Mo. was named First Team All-Conference. She started in 15 of 17 games played. She scored one goal, one assist, and recorded 11 points.
Caitlyn Smith, a senior midfielder from Fenton, Mo. was named First Team All-Conference. She started in all 17 games played and leads the team in goals with seven. She also had seven assists on the season and recorded 21 points. Smith is currently ranked eighth in the SLIAC with five assists, and 10th in points with 17.
Libby Bateman, a senior defender from Glen Carbon, Ill. earned First Team All-Conference. She started in all 17 games played, scored one goal, had two assists, and recorded four points on the season.
Bianca Cortez-Perez, a senior midfielder from Fairmont City, Ill. tabbed Third Team All-Conference. She started in 15 of 17 games played, scored four goals, three assists and recorded 11 points on the season.
