Eureka, Ill. - Fontbonne women's volleyball ended their conference-filled week 3-1 after defeating Eureka College 3-0 and suffering their first SLIAC loss to Spalding 3-1 on Saturday.
The Griffins opened play at the Eureka quad with a season set-high .429 hitting percentage. Fontbonne then followed up with a .303 average in set two. Kristina Eason recorded 10 kills on 20 attempts against the Red Devils. Carissa Dodge was big at the net too, completing three of seven attempts while also recorded five block assists. Holly Richter hit .400 while right-side junior Bailey Benes tallied a .385 mark in the game. Mandy DeWitt and Lynsey Wehrenberg split assists with 17 and 16 respectively.
The Griffins struggled at the net against Spalding. Dodge was able to secure two solo blocks and two block assists at the net while Maddie Stadler tallied 18 digs. The junior libero finished the day with 33 days altogether. DeWitt notched 12 digs to go along with her nine assists while Wehrenberg completed 17 assists against the Eagles. Kersten McDonough was the only player to achieve a double-double as she totaled 18 kills and 10 digs.
Fontbonne hosts Westminster College Tuesday at 7pm as well as a quad match Saturday at 11am and 1pm.
