Set Notes
Set 1: The Griffins trailed 24-21, but closed out the set on a 5-0 run with an attack error by the Beavers giving Fontbonne the 26-24 win.
The Griffins had 13 kills in the first set led by Kristen Kaempfe and Hannah Gallagher with four each.
Set 2: Fontbonne fared better in the second set upping its hitting percentage from .064 in the first to .194 in the second in the 25-18 victory. Kaempfe came up big with six kills giving her 10 heading into the third set.
Set 3: The Beavers took a 12-9 lead, but a 4-0 run by Fontbonne gave them the 13-12 advantage. It was all Fontbonne the rest of the way going on for the 25-20 match win.
The Griffins totaled a match-high 14 kills and .237 hitting percentage in the third. Gallagher led with five kills, while Kaempfe tacked on four more.
Team Notes
- Fontbonne finished with 37 kills and a .155 hitting percentage.
- They found success at the net for the second straight night with two solo blocks and eight block assists for six total blocks overall.
