Women's Volleyball Hosts Trio Of SLIAC Teams This Weekend
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s volleyball team hosts a trio of SLIAC teams this weekend. On Friday night, the Griffins take on Spalding at 7 p.m. On Saturday, they’ll host a Quad against Webster at 11 a.m., followed by Blackburn at 1 p.m.

A Look At The Griffins
- The Griffins picked up its second straight win after erasing a two-set deficit to earn a come-from-behind win against Westminster in five sets (21-25, 12-25, 25-22, 25-21, 16-14).
- In the outing, Kristina Eason posted a season-high 17 kills and she's just now 10 away from 1,000.
- Megan Schaller also became the seventh Griffin all-time in reaching 1,000 assists.
- On the season, the Griffins are led by Eason's 184 kills, 141 digs, and 36 block assists.
- Maura Rabun has added 166 kills and continues to lead the SLIAC with a .282 hitting percentage. She's also accumulated a team-high 59 blocks.
- Schaller leads with 317 assists, while Sarah Borgerding is up to a team-high 222 digs.
A Look At The Spalding Golden Eagles
- The Golden Eagles have struggled thus far as they've won just three sets this month.
- The team is led by Samantha Robison's 179 kills.
- Setter Mya Summers has handed out 546 assists.
- Defensively, freshman defensive specialist, Dawson Kemme paces them with 357 digs.
- Claudia Spivey, meanwhile, will be a player-to-look-out-for as she's compiled a team-high 57 blocks.
A Look At The Webster Gorloks
- The Gorloks, who currently sit in first place in the SLIAC, will be looking to sweep the season series against Fontbonne after winning 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-21) back on Oct. 3rd.
- Since its straight set loss against WashU on Sept. 20th, the Gorloks have won 30 straight sets and are riding a 10-game win streak.
- On the year, the Gorloks are averaging 12.32 kills per set. Samantha Kruse paces them with 209 kills and a .242 hitting percentage.
- Kelsey Hamann leads in the assist department with 326, while Kristen Farrah ranks first nationally in digs per set (8.63) and second in total digs (621).
A Look At The Blackburn Beavers
- The Beavers lost the previous meeting to Fontbonne in four sets back on Sept. 26th.
- After picking up a five-set win over Eureka on Oct. 3rd, the Beavers have fallen in its last five before its match-up against Webster this evening.
- On the season, the Beavers are putting down 9.19 kills per set.
- They're led by Alanni Young's 170 kills and .192 hitting percentage.
- Setter Kendall Burleyson leads with 525 assists, while Annika Ochs has a one dig advantage over teammate Kendall Knop with 259.
