Toby transferred to Fontbonne at the beginning of his junior season in 2000.
Toby, who was an outfielder, earned the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year and First-Team All-Conference honors that year. He batted a team high .450 with a team-leading 49 hits. He also scored 33 runs while driving in 21 RBI's. Fontbonne finished 10-4 in conference that year which was good enough for 2nd place.

In his senior season, Toby hit .444 which was once again a team high. He scored a team high 47 runs while driving in 41. His performance once again earned him First-Team All-Conference honors. Fontbonne finished 11-10 in conference and 17-21 overall that year.
