Rylee Stafford Named Inaugural SLIAC Female Athlete Of The Year
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Fontbonne University women’s soccer and basketball player Rylee Stafford has been named the inaugural SLIAC Female Athlete of the Year.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Fontbonne University women's soccer and basketball player Rylee Stafford has been named the inaugural SLIAC Female Athlete of the Year.
Stafford, a Jackson, Mo., native, was a two-sport standout player in her final season with Fontbonne. On the pitch, she started in 20 games on defense and tied her career-high with two goals to help lead the Griffins to SLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
On the court, she was named to the SLIAC All-Conference First Team, All-Region 8 Third Team, was a Jostens Trophy finalist and led the nation hitting 3.96 3-point field goals per game.
She averaged a career-high 20.5 points per game and shot 35.4 percent from beyond-the-arc. She became the single season leader at Fontbonne and in the SLIAC with 85 3-pointers made and career 3-pointers made with 298.
Stafford also set the program record with 348 career free throws made, became the single-season leader in total points with 491 and sits alone atop the record books with 1,744 career points at Fontbonne.
