Bruna Pacheco Named to College Sports Communicators 30 Under 30
GREENWOO, Ind. – The Fontbonne University Director of Athletic Communications Bruna Pacheco has been selected as a member of the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) 30 Under 30 Class of 2023.
This honor was created by the Young Professionals Committee to recognize outstanding young communications and creative professionals who have made an impact on athletic department across the country.
"The Fontbonne Athletic Department is extremely proud of our Director of Athletic Communications, Bruna Pacheco on receiving this tremendous honor," Director of Athletics Danielle Doerfler. "Bruna in her short time at Fontbonne has worked to improve and increase our social media presence and brand, revamp our website and provide new ideas and concepts for promoting our student-athletes and teams."
"We felt as though we got the right hire and Bruna has proven that correct multiple times. She is passionate, professional, and driven. We look forward to the continued heights she can take our sports information department with her guidance. Congrats Bruna, we are extremely proud of you for this honor," concluded Doerfler.
A Rio de Janeiro, Brazil native, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Ottawa University. She began her collegiate athletic career with the Braves as a Sports Information Intern, writing game recaps and making graphics for men's and women's tennis along with being a spotter for lacrosse and men's volleyball.
After receiving her Bachelors, she found her way to William Woods where she received her Master's in Business Administration from William Woods in December while serving as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant.
While at WWU, she was the Interim SID in the spring of 2022 preparing media content for games, creating graphics, recording stats, writing stories, and updating social media accounts. She also took action shots during games, student-athlete and staff headshots.
"This is a great honor for Bruna, Fontbonne University, and the SLIAC. She has a great passion for the profession and has been a welcome addition to the league. I enjoy working with her as a colleague and am excited to see her continued growth and success," stated SLIAC Assistant Commissioner Brian Lovellette.
"Bruna has been an excellent addition to our athletics staff. Over the past year she has elevated our department in several ways," said Dance Head Coach Laura Martin. "Bruna continually raises the bar by creating innovative graphics and designs that capture audiences across platforms! We absolutely adore HER and all the hard work she does for us and our student-athletes."
"Bruna has been a brilliant addition to our athletic department and has made an immediate impact this year. It is no surprise that she is being recognized for this award and we are very lucky to have her at Fontbonne University," shared Women's Soccer Head Coach Dylan Cassidy.
"It is a tremendous honor to be recognized for the CSC 30 Under 30 Award. I woud like to say thank you to Katie Tooley for introducing me to the profession at Ottawa, and especially Alysha Galla who has been a role model for me since I first met her and taught me everything that I know. I work with a fantastic group of coaches, support staff, and student-athletes every day at Fontbonne who help keep me motivated to be the best SID out there. I look forward to continuing growing in the field that I love.
