St. Louis, Mo. - Tanner Carter led the Griffins on the mound to a an 11-1 seven-inning win over Iillinois College. Carter struck out eight batters in six innings of work.
Ben Greenway pulled his first shot of the day over the right-field fence, hitting his first grand slam and home run at Fontbonne. Greenway would continue hot at the plate, going four-for-four on the day. Patrick Shuff hit a home run in the second inning, this time to center field for a two-run shot in his first at-bat. He later sac flied to center, bringing in Fontbonne's ninth run.
The Griffins are now 5-5 on the season, taking on Millikin with a doubleheader Wednesday before starting conference divisional play against Eureka this weekend.
