St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne baseball hosted Millikin University Wednesday for their 2015 makeup game on a freezing rain, chilly evening.
Millikin scored after a Griffin error in the first, the only run of the first game. Fontbonne struggled at the plate with just three hits in their seven innings of play. Cale Laughlin suffered the loss. The sophomore struck out five batters in five innings of work.
In game two, Millikin scored four runs in the fourth inning while Fontbonne scored two in the fifth. Another two runs for the visiting team in the sixth and three for the Griffin hosts put Fontbonne just one run short of sending the game into extra innings. Millikin walked away with the 6-5 win. Vincent Santarsiero started the second game and struck out four of the seven batters he faced.
Fontbonne opens SLIAC divisional play this weekend at Eureka.
