Patrick Shuff named SLIAC Hitter of the Week

St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne sophomore catcher Patrick Shuff (St. Louis, Mo./Lindbergh) has been named as the SLIAC Hitter of the Week for the week of March 30, 2015. Last week the Griffins went 4-1 and are the only team in the SLIAC that is still undefeated against conference foes. Fontbonne is 12-9 on the season and 7-0 in the SLIAC.

Shuff went 6-for-11 last week with six runs batted in, five walks, six assists, four runs scored, one double and one home run. Shuff's home run tied the game in the bottom of the seventh against MacMurray, keeping the Griffins undefeated in the SLIAC as teammate Matt Wallis hit the two-run walk-off home run. Shuff ended the week going 5-for-5 against the Highlanders and totaled a .909 slugging percentage and .647 on-base percentage. The catcher averaged .545 on the week and threw out four runners trying to steal.

The Griffins are at Washington University Wednesday for a 3pm contest and return to SLIAC action when they host Spalding University Friday at 1pm.
