Greenway named D3Baseball.com All-Region
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne University baseball junior Ben Greenway (Jacksonville, Fla./Arlington Country Day) was recently named as a D3Baseball.com's All-Central Region honoree. Greenway received third-team accolades as a designated hitter in his first time receiving such honors. Eight hundred players were nominated for the eight different regions and Greenway is the first Griffin to be recognized in the five-year history of the award.
Greenway, a SLIAC second-team All-Conference awardee, hit .358 on the season with 53 hits, 37 runs batted in, 14 doubles and four home runs. He had a great day in Fontbonne's 12-7 upset of Westminster College. Greenway hit four-of-four on the day with four RBI's, two walks and two runs scored. In Florida, the Griffins took a tough 17-12 loss to St. Norbert's College where Greenway went three-of-four with four runs scored, three RBI's, two walks and a double. Against Robert Morris University of Springfield the left-handed hitter recorded a career-high seven RBI's on three-of-four attempts at the plate with two home runs.
