How It Happened
In the top of the first, the Fightin' Engineers plated two runs on three hits which was highlighted by Logan Cody's RBI double to give them a 2-0 lead.
The Griffins answered right back in the home half. Gus Purschke reached base on an error to lead off and moved up a base on Tyler Chambliss' walk. After a strikeout, the Griffins made it a 2-1 game on Rose-Hulman's throwing error.
Luke Meixner kept the line moving with a single to load up the bases for Matt Manint. The sophomore came through with an RBI single to score Chambliss and tie the game.
In the bottom of the third, the Griffins grabbed a 3-2 lead on Gus Purschke's RBI single which plated Meixner who led the inning off with a walk.
However, in the top of the fifth, the Fightin' Engineers bats took over plating four runs on four hits with Logan Cody, Luke Calabrese, and Luke Kluemper (two) each coming through with RBI to give them a 6-3 advantage.
