How It Happened
It was a scoreless contest up until the third when Colton Klein belted a solo shot to left to give them a 1-0 lead. They added four more runs in the inning to lead 5-0.
Fontbonne got on the board in the bottom half of the fourth when Kameron Brooks singled up the middle bringing home Ty Kueper, who led off with a single to center.
However, the Firebirds added three more in the fifth to lead 9-1 and tacked on one in the seventh and four in the eighth for the run-rule victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Carter Lee, Braeden Dobbs, Ty Kueper, Brooks, Brady Boyer, and Eric Creech had a hit for Fontbonne.
- Nick Glaser suffered his first loss on the year allowing five runs (one earned) and sitting down four.
