Fontbonne Baseball Drops A Tough Extra Inning Contest Against Keystone

AUBURNDALE, Fla.—The Fontbonne University baseball team belted two homers and scattered 10 hits, however, the Griffins fell 12-10 in extra innings against the Keystone Giants.
Game Breakdown
The Giants took a 3-0 lead in the first, but the Griffins answered in the home half of the second. After a leadoff walk, the Griffins made it a 3-2 game after Reece Harris hit his first collegiate homer out to left.
Later in the inning, the Griffins had two on and one out. Carter Lee came through with a single to left scoring Trey Kueper to tie the game. Colby Shivers followed with a sacrifice-fly plating Eric Creech giving Fontbonne a 4-3 lead.
However, the Giants scored one in the third and four more in the fifth taking an 8-4 lead. Fontbonne answered in a big way in the home half of the fifth.
After a fly-out, a walk by Braeden Dobbs, a single from Ty Kueper, and another walk to Harris had the bases loaded for Thomas Purschke. The St. Louis, Mo., native, cleared the bases with a grand slam to tie the game. Four batters later, with two on and two outs the Griffins took a 10-8 lead on Shivers double to left.
The Giants stayed alive scoring a run in the seventh and the eighth to tie the game. In extra innings, the Giants scored two on an RBI single from Julio Acosta. Fontbonne had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, but Keystone got out of the jam for the win.
