Game Breakdown
In the first, Daniel Youngblood got things started with a one out double and Braeden Dobbs traded places with a double of his own giving Fontbonne a 1-0 lead.
Three batters later Paul Wilson reached base on an error allowing Dobbs to score. Trey Kueper followed with a single to right bringing home Colby Shivers making it a 3-0 game.
The Rams got a run back in the bottom half of the inning, however, the Griffins made it 4-1 in the second on an RBI double off the bat of Youngblood.
Fontbonne tacked on another run in the third, fourth, and seventh leading 7-1. From there, the Griffins got an RBI from Trey Kueper and Colby Shivers in the eighth giving them a commanding 9-1 lead.
The Rams plated two more in the bottom half, but in the top of the ninth the Griffins got an RBI single from Carter Lee giving Fontbonne a seven-run cushion.
Farmingdale State threatened in the ninth scoring five runs, but Tyson Wilson came on in relief recording the final out for the two-run win.
