Fontbonne Baseball Extends Winning Streak Out To Five; Coach Ryan Good Wins 300th Career Game
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University baseball team opened conference play today with two wins over Westminster, knocking off the Blue Jays 7-0 in game one and winning 4-3 in walk-off fashion in game two. Head Coach Ryan Good also earned his 300th career victory.

Game 1 Breakdown
The scoring got started for Fontbonne in the second with Ty Kueper and Colby Shivers reaching base on consecutive hits. Trey Kueper brought Ty Kueper in on a sacrifice-fly giving Fontbonne a 1-0 lead. Eric Creech followed with an RBI groundout extending its advantage out to 2-0.
Fontbonne made it 3-0 in the third on a bases loaded walk and pushed its advantage out to 4-0 on an Blue Jays error.
Carter Lee, Reece Harris, and Colby Shivers scoring on a wild pitch in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings gave Fontbonne a commanding 7-0 lead.
Nick Glaser tossed a gem on the mound throwing 7.0 innings of shutout ball and striking out six. Tyson Wilson and David Howard closed it out from there securing the shutout win.

Game 2 Breakdown
It was a pitcher's dual throughout, but after three innings of action it was the Blue Jays having a 1-0 lead.
In the fifth, though the Griffins took the lead. Paul Wilson led off with a double to right and moved up a base on an Eric Creech single. Carter Lee brought Wilson home with a sacrifice fly tying the game. Then, the Blue Jays committed an error allowing Creech to come on home giving Fontbonne a 2-1 lead.
In the eighth, the Blue Jays tied the game on a Quin Adelson solo homer to start off the inning. Later in the inning, the Blue Jays took a 3-2 lead on Austin Mayton's double to right.
In the home half of the eighth, the Griffins answered right back. Colby Shivers reached base on a two out single and he raced around the bases to tie the game on Matt Manint's double to center.
In the bottom of the ninth, pinch hitter Reece Harris led off with a single and was pinch ran for by Brandon Hinson. After a fly-out and a single by Thomas Purschke, the Griffins had runners on first and second.
Daniel Youngblood stepped in and hit a single to right allowing Hinson to score giving Fontbonne the 4-3 win.
