Game Breakdown
After Westminster took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Griffins answered in the bottom of the inning with Matt Helm sending a no-doubter over the left field wall, his fourth on the year, giving Fontbonne a 3-1 lead.
In the third, the Griffins made it 4-1 with Braeden Dobbs scoring on a wild pitch. In the sixth, the Griffins had the bases loaded with two outs and Dobbs hit one down the left field line that stayed within the foul pole for his first career grand slam, extending its lead out to 9-1.
Dobbs wasn't done there in the eighth. After consecutive walks to Thomas Purschke and Daniel Youngblood, the senior stepped in and singled to right plating two giving Fontbonne the 11-1 mercy-rule win.
