Game Breakdown
The Panthers opened with a 2-0 lead through two innings of play, but the Griffins answered in the third. After a walk to Thomas Purschke and a hit-by-pitch to Daniel Youngblood, the Griffins cut into the deficit into 2-1 after an RBI single from Braeden Dobbs soring Thomas.
Then, Matt Helm stepped in and belted a 3-run shot over the right field wall giving Fontbonne a 4-1 advantage.
They tacked on two more in the fourth with Davin Smith and Daniel Youngblood each collecting an RBI making a 6-1 contest. The Griffins added another run in the fifth off a Trey Kueper RBI single and made it 8-1 n the sixth off Youngblood's leadoff solo homer.
From there, the Griffins scored one in the seventh and four more in the fourth en route to the nine-run win.
