Fontbonne Baseball Drops Series Against No. 11 Webster
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University baseball team dropped the final two games against No. 11 Webster falling 21-5 (7 inn.) in game two and 9-4 in game three.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University baseball team dropped the final two games against No. 11 Webster falling 21-5 (7 inn.) in game two and 9-4 in game three.
Game 2 Breakdown
After Webster took a 2-0 lead in the first on a Ben Swords homer, the Griffins responded right away in the bottom half with Braeden Dobbs leading off with a solo shot to left for his second on the season.
The offense kept rolling from there with Daniel Youngblood and Matt Helm following with a walk and a single.
Ty Kueper took the first pitch he saw to center allowing Youngblood to score to tie the game. Matt Manint stayed hot with the bat hitting a single to center which loaded up the bases. Colby Shivers reached on a fielder's choice, but Helm scored giving Fontbonne a 3-2 lead.
However, the Gorloks outscored Fontbonne 19-2 the rest of the way going on for the 16-run victory.

Game 3 Breakdown
After Fontbonne took a 1-0 lead in the first, the Griffins extended its lead out to 3-0 on Dobbs belting his second homer in as many games to left.
In the third, though the Gorloks scored six runs on three hits highlighted by a Malik Wirges homer and a Parker Wielt bases clearing triple. Webster scored one in the eighth and two more in the ninth going on for the five-run win.

Up Next
The Griffins are back in action next Saturday when they'll visit WashU for a doubleheader. On Sunday, the Griffins host the Bears for a single game starting at 12 p.m.
