Fontbonne Baseball Has Nine Players Earn All-Conference; Glaser Named Pitcher Of The Year

Nick Glaser was named SLIAC Pitcher of the Year for the first time in his career and was named to the First Team. He was joined by Trey Kueper, Matt Helm, Colby Shivers, and Braeden Dobbs.
Gavin Kinworthy and Daniel Youngblood earned Second Team honors, while Thomas Purschke was named to the Third Team. Carter Lee was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Glaser, a St. Louis, Mo., native, went 7-2 on the season setting new career-highs in wins, innings pitched (67.2), strikeouts (65), and earned run average (2.53). In conference play, Glaser was 6-1 with a 2.80 ERA and had a team-high 44 strikeouts.
Trey Kueper earns First Team honors for the first time in his career after batting a career-best .384. He's set new career-high marks as well in hits (33), doubles (six), home runs (two), and RBI (18). He batted .354 in conference play with eight RBI.
Helm, a New Berlin, Ill., native, led the Griffins with a .408 average, totaling 49 hits, eight doubles, a team-high 11 homers, and 52 RBI. In conference, Helm batted .395, while tying for first in home runs (eight), and RBI (30).
Shivers is back on the All-Conference Team for the second straight season after being named Third Team last year. The Rolla, Mo., native, batted .336 in 32 games having new career-high marks in hits (40), runs scored (36), doubles (10), home runs (six), and RBI (27). In 17 conference games, Shivers is batting .347 with 25 hits, three homers and 15 RBI.
Dobbs was the fifth Griffin to earn All-Conference First Team honors as the Jackson, Mo., native, is having a career-year with a .379 average, totaling 55 hits, 46 runs scored, two triples, three homers, and 35 RBI. He also became the all-time career doubles leader at Fontbonne with 48 against Spalding.
In 19 conference games, Dobbs batted a team-high .402 with 33 hits, 26 runs scored, and 21 RBI.
Gavin Kinworthy had an impactful freshman campaign thus far with the Windsor, Ill., native, going 9-3 in 64.2 innings pitched and striking out 60 batters. In conference, he's 5-1 with 33 strikeouts and a 5.05 ERA.
Daniel Youngblood also returns to the All-Conference First Team for the second straight season. The St. Louis, Mo., native, hit .399 during the regular season, posting 55 hits, 50 runs scored, 15 doubles, five homers, and 32 RBI. In 20 conference games, Youngblood is hitting .373 with seven doubles, three homers, and 19 RBI.
Purschke also earns his second straight SLIAC All-Conference selection after putting up career-high marks in hits (47), runs scored (42), doubles (11), and RBI (36). In conference action, Purschke hit .303 with 23 hits, eight doubles, and 15 RBI.
Lee, a Wildwood, Mo., native, batted a career-high .297 on the season while adding 30 hits, 31 runs scored, seven doubles, four homers, and 24 RBI.
