Baseball Sweeps Blackburn, Wins Fourth in a Row
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University baseball team swept Blackburn this afternoon. The Griffins improve to 22-9 on the season and 10-2 in conference play.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University baseball team swept Blackburn this afternoon. The Griffins improve to 22-9 on the season and 10-2 in conference play.
Game One: The Griffins dominated Blackburn, 11-1 (7 innings).
- Carter Lee added three hits, one run, and two RBIs.
- Kameron Brooks and Matt Helm each had two hits and one run.
- Ty Kueper scored three runs.
- Thomas Purschke and Dalton Groves each scored two runs.
- Colby Shivers scored one run.
Nick Glaser (3-2) took the win on the mound. He pitched 6.0 innings and struck out nine while allowing five hits and one run. Avery Himes pitched 1.0 innings and struck out one while allowing one hit.
Game Two: The Griffins took down Blackburn, 14-4 (7 innings).
- Eric Creech, Carter Lee, and Kameron Brooks each had one hit and one run.
- Ty Kueper had two hits and three runs.
- Matt Helm and Thomas Purschke each scored two runs and had three RBIs.
- Jack Wood scored two runs.
- Trey Kueper had two hits and one run.
- Colby Shivers had three hits and one run.
Ben Bisig pitched 4.0 innings. He struck out three and allowed five hits and four runs. Nolan Gutjhar (4-1) pitched 3.0 innings. He struck out five and allowed one hit.
