Baseball Dropped Two to Webster
SAUGET, Ill. – The Fontbonne University baseball team dropped two to Webster University Saturday afternoon. The team moves to 22-11 on the season and 10-4 in conference play.

SAUGET, Ill. – The Fontbonne University baseball team dropped two to Webster University Saturday afternoon. The team moves to 22-11 on the season and 10-4 in conference play.
Game One:
Webster take game one over the Griffins, 9-4.
Webster got on board first with a homer on the first to take the lead of the game.
The lead quickly jumped to the Griffins' side as Bryce McKinnon scored one run on the third. Then, Colby Shivers, Thomas Purschke and Kameron Brooks scored off a homer from Brooks to increase the lead to 4-1.
The Griffins were unable score again and Webster scored eight runs to take game one 9-4.
Gavin Kinworthy (7-3) took the loss on the mound. He pitched 6.0 innings and struck out three while allowing nine hits and six runs.
Vonner Panek pitched 2.0 innings. He struck out one and allowed four hits and three runs.
Game Two:
Fontbonne fell short to Webster, 6-5.
Webster grabbed the lead in the beginning of the game after scoring two on the bottom of the first.
On the top of the fourth, Thomas Purschke hit a single to center field to bring home Ty Kueper.
On the bottom of the fifth, Webster increased their lead to 3-1.
On the sixth, Matt Helm grounded out to third base bringing home Carter Lee. Webster scored three more for a 6-2 score.
On the top of the seventh, Noah Sainato hit an RBI single to right field to bring home J Wood. Ty Kueper hit an RBI single to bring home Carter Lee.
On the top of the eighth, Dalton groves hit a single RBI to the center field to bring home Colby Shivers to fall short 6-5.
Nick Glaser (3-3) grabbed the loss on the mound. He pitched 5.1 innings and struck out one while allowing nine hits and five runs.
Nolan Gutjhar pitched 2.2 innings. He struck out three while allowing three hits and one run.
