Baseball Earned Big-Time Series Win over Greenville
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University baseball team earned to more wins over Greenville on Saturday afternoon to take the series win. The team improved to 25-12 overall and 13-5 in SLIAC play.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University baseball team earned to more wins over Greenville on Saturday afternoon to take the series win. The team improved to 25-12 overall and 13-5 in SLIAC play.
Game One
The Griffins took a 5-3 win over Greenville.
Both teams remained scoreless until the top of the fifth, when Greenville scored two runs to take the lead of the game. Fontbonne responded with one run by Ty Kueper after Matt Helm hit an RBI single down the line.
On top of the sixth, Greenville scored one more run to increase their lead to 3-1.
On the bottom of the sixth, Fontbonne began their comeback with Jack Wood scoring after Ty Kueper hit a single RBI to center field. On the bottom of the eighth, Ty Kueper hit a two RBI double to center bringing home Carter Lee and Dalton Groves to take the lead for the first in the game. Matt Helm hit an RBI single to right field scoring Ty Kueper, 5-3.
Nick Glaser pitched 5.1 innings. He struck out six while allowing six hits and three runs.
David Howard (2-0) was credited with the win on the mound. He struck out two while allowing only one hit.
Nolan Gutjhar got the save. He pitched 1.0 inning and struck out one while allowing one hit.
Game Two
The Griffins defeated Greenville, 5-2.
The Griffins set the tone of the game early with four runs. Thomas Purschke hit an RBI single to left center to score Ty Kueper. Colby Shivers reached on a fielder's choice with Matt Helm scoring. Jack Wood was hit by pitch and Thomas Purschke came home. Matt Helm hit an RBI double to left center to bring home Ty Kueper.
Greenville scored one on the top of the sixth and then one more on the top of the eighth.
Eric Creech scored the final run of the game for the Griffins off Matt Helm's single to center field.
Ben Bisig (3-2) took the win on the mound. He pitched 5.1 innings and struck out four while allowing five hits and one run.
Vonner Panek pitched 2.2 innings. He struck out two while allowing two hits and one run.
Camden Coleman got the save. He pitched 1.0 inning and allowed one hit.

The Griffins will conclude regular season with a three-game series against Spalding at home with a doubleheader on Saturday and the last game of the series on Sunday, May 6 and 7. Games on Saturday will begin at 1 p.m. while on Sunday will start at 12 p.m.
