Kueper, Lee Named CSC Academic All-District
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) announced the 2022-23 Baseball Academic All-District award winners Tuesday afternoon, and Fontbonne University athletes Trey Kueper and Carter Lee earned the distinct honor.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) announced the 2022-23 Baseball Academic All-District award winners Tuesday afternoon, and Fontbonne University athletes Trey Kueper and Carter Lee earned the distinct honor.
To be nominated for the All-District Team, a student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the institution, be a starter or important reserve and hold at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average at his current institution.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 7.
Trey Kueper, a senior catcher from Waterloo, Ill. He started in 26 of 28 games played. He recorded 85 at-bats, 25 runs, 22 hits, eight doubles, 10 RBI, three stolen bases, a .259 batting average, and a .435 slugging percentage. He had 200 putouts and a .991 fielding percentage.
Carter Lee, a senior third baseman from Wildwood, Mo., tabbed SLIAC Second Team and SLIAC All-Sportsmanship. He started in 39 of 40 games played. He leads the Griffins in home runs with 13. He recorded 143 at-bats, 35 runs, 43 hits, 47 RBI, a .301 batting average, and a .671 slugging percentage. He is ranked second in home runs and fifth in runs batted in (RBI) in the SLIAC.
