LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Fontbonne University baseball team came up short in a doubleheader at Spalding University. The Griffins dropped game one 2-1, followed by a 6-4 loss on game two.
The Griffins drop to 13-21 on the season and 7-7 in SLIAC play.
Game one
- Blake Van Beers, Kameron Brooks and Dalton Groves each recorded one hit.
- Zack Molden scored one run.
- Groves had one RBI.
Nick Glaser took the loss on the mound. He pitched 6.0 innings and struck out two while allowing seven hits and two runs.
Josh Stratton pitched 2.0 innings and struck out two.
Game two
- Eric Creech added two hits.
- Ty Kueper, Colby Shivers, Bryce McKinnon, and Luke Smith each had one hit.
- Creech, Austin Happel, McKinnon, and Smith each scored one run.
- Creech and Kueper had one RBI each.
Zach Williams pitched 6.0 innings. He struck out three while allowing 12 hits and four runs.
TJ Schwartz grabbed the loss on the mound. He struck out three while allowing three hits and two runs.
