Groves, Kueper, Shivers Homers in Loss to Webster

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University baseball team dropped two home games to Webster University. The Griffins fell on game one 11-4, followed by a 9-6 loss on game two. The Griffins move to 7-9 in conference play and 13-23 on the season.

Game one

• Eric Creech, Austin Happel, Kameron Brooks each had two hits.
• Colby Shivers hit a homerun.
• Shivers recorded two RBI, whole Brooks recorded one.
• Ty Kueper, Shivers, Happel, and Luke Smith each scored one run.

Nick Glaser took the loss on the mound after pitching 5.0 innings. He struck out one, while allowing nine hits and six runs.

Josh Stratton pitched 2.1 innings. He struck out two while allowing two hits and three runs.

Vonner Panek pitched 1.2 inning. He struck out one while allowing two hits and two runs.

Game two

• Happel had four hits, while Kueper and Shivers each had three.
• Groves added two hits including one homer, and one run.
• Happel scored two runs, while Kueper, Blake Van Veers, and Nate Walker each scored one run.
• Kueper and Groves each recorded two RBI.

Zach Williams was credited with the loss on the mound. He pitched 5.0 innings while striking out five and allowing nine hits and five runs.

Kendall Horton pitched 2.0 innings. He struck out three while allowing five hits and three runs.

TJ Schwartz pitched 2.0 innings. He allowed two hits and one run.
