AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Fontbonne University baseball team traveled South to Florida one last time for their annual spring break trip.

The Griffins played three different opponents there and earned a walk-off victory against Curry.

Game against Curry, 6-5

Davin Smith went 3-for-3, hitting a bomb homerun, and adding three RBI.

Josh Rhiney added three hits and scored two runs. Nate Pruneau recorded two hits and one run.

Kameren Brooks had the walk-off hit to left center scoring Eric Creech and taking the win.

TJ Scwartz had a great day on the mound. He pitched 7.1 innings and struck out seven while allowing five hits and three runs. Camden Coleman took the win on the mound, striking out one and allowing three hits and two runs.

Fontbonne earned losses to Rochester Institute on Saturday (9-4) and Lakeland on Sunday (18-3).

Game against RIT, 9-4

Josh Rhiney, Gavin Lyday and Chase Blumer each had two hits. Blumer scored two runs. Kameren Brooks had one hit, one run and two RBI.

Kendall Horton started on the mound for the Griffins. He pitched 6.1 innings and struck out five while allowing four hits and four runs. Camden Coleman earned the loss on the mound and pitched 1.2 innings and struck out two while allowing four hits and five runs.

Game against Lakeland, 18-3 in seven innings

Nate Pruneau and Gavyn Lyday each had two hits. Lyday added two RBI. Eric Creech, TJ Schwartz and Chase Blumer each had one hit and scored one run.

Derek Morganthaler took the loss on the mound. He pitched 4.2 innings and struck out four while allowing 10 hits and nine runs. Vonner Panek pitched 1.1 inning and allowed three hits and three runs. Ben Swift pitched 0.0 innings and allowed one hit and six runs. Kyle James pitched 1.0 inning and allowed one hit.
