ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University baseball team swept the Beavers of Blackburn College on Sunday afternoon. The Griffins improve to 5-14 on the season and 4-4 in conference play.
The Griffins scored the lone run of game one in the sixth inning to take the win. In game two, the game was tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, when Ty Kueper singled, scoring one run.
Game one
Eric Creech had one hit and one run scored.
Ty Kueper had one hit and one RBI.
Kameren Brooks, Carter Arenz and Bryce McKinnon each added one hit.
Kendall Horton pitched a complete game in the mound to earn the win. He struck out three while allowing six hits.
Game two
Creech added another went 4-for-5, with two runs and one RBI.
Ty Kueper went 2-for-4, with one run and two RBI.
Davin Smith went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Brooks added one hit and one RBI.
Arenz and McKinnon each added one hit.
TJ Schwartz pitched 8.0 innings. He struck out two while allowing 13 hits and four runs taking the win on the mound.
Camden Coleman pitched the final inning. He struck out two and earned the save.
