Esports Falls In Preseason Contest Against Wichita State
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University Esports team got its preseason slate underway this past Saturday against Wichita State and dropped a tough 2-0 contest in a best of three series.

"Despite losing 2-0 against WSU in our preseason match, our Varsity LoL team proved that they can go toe-to-toe against stronger opponents and compete at the collegiate level." said head coach Brandon Clark. "With a little more practice under our belts, I'm confident we can win against other teams like WSU."
Game One Highlights
Minh Phan put the Griffins on the board at 9:44 with the first kill onto the Wichita State Support. WSU scored an ace on the Griffins at 29:55 for the victory.
Game Two Highlights
At the 6:10 minute mark, Griffins Mid Laner Braden Woolsey, with help from Jungler Matt Young, gets First Blood kill onto the WSU Mid Laner. From there, at the 16:05 minute mark, Fontbonne's Bot Lane, consisting of Minh Phan and Nate Hudson, took First Turret.
At 18:24, Varsity LoL secured the Rift Herald and used to take WSU's Mid Lane Tier 1 Turret. Then, at the 26:00 minute mark, Varsity LoL got Ace'd by WSU when trying to secure Baron and began to lose its lead in the game.
At 38:42, WSU scored another Ace to take game two, winning the Bo3 series.
