Sprint Football Wins Second Consecutive
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University sprint football team played in front of their home crowd for the first time this season grabbing a 20-13 win over Midway. The Griffins improved to 2-0 on the season.
By the Numbers
Fontbonne recorded 24 first downs.
The Griffins totaled 338 yards of offense, with 343 through the air.
Defensively, Fontbonne held Midway to 76 total yards.
Temaj Taylor 26-of-46 338 yards and three touchdowns.
Chris Reckel had 11 catches for 134 yards.
Travion Swygeart had five catches for 60 yards for one touchdown.
David Collins had four catches for 42 yards and one touchdown.
Will Thomas had one catch for 38 yards and one touchdown.
Rogerick Brown had eight carries for 14 yards.
Avion Bass and Clayton Arrowood each had eight tackles.
How it Happened
Fontbonne opened the score in the seventh minute of the first period when Temaj Taylor found Travion Swygeart for the touchdown with a 22 yard pass.
With one second remaining in the second period, David Collins scored a touchdown in a pass from Taylor to extend the lead for the Griffins, 12-0.
Midway scored 13 points to take the lead of the game by one point.
However, Taylor's 38-yard pass found Will Thomas for a touchdown followed by a two point conversion rush by Chris Reckel that was good.
