Sprint Football Looking to Bounce Back at Homecoming Game
WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Fontbonne University sprint football team looks to bounce back during Homecoming game after falling to St. Mary-Woods 44-6 this afternoon. The Griffins move to 2-1 on the season.
Dylan Scruggs carried the ball five times for a total of 44 rushing yards, averaging an impressive 8.8 yards per carry. His longest run was for 23 yards, and he scored one rushing touchdown during the game.
Temaj Taylor Completed eight out of 22 pass attempts for a total of 57 passing yards, with his longest pass covering 15 yards.
Trevor Patton carried the ball 14 times for a total of 59 rushing yards, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. His longest run was for 19 yards.
Tory Allen made two receptions for a total of 29 receiving yards, averaging 14.5 yards per reception. His longest run covered 15 yards.
Avion Bass had a notable performance with 10 total tackles and three sacks for a loss of six yards.
Donte Lewis also contributed with seven solo tackles in the game.
St. Mary of the Woods put up a 44-0 during the game.
With 13 seconds left in the game, Dylan Scruggs scored a four-yard run, but the extra attempt failed, resulting in a final score of 44-6 for St. Mary-Woods.
