Men's Basketball Student-Athlete Spotlight: Blake Welch
Fontbonne University freshman guard Blake Welch scored a career-high 26 points for the Griffins in their recent 81 -68 win over Blackburn College. Welch went 10-17 from the field including 6-13 from behind the arc. He scored 17 points in the first half connecting on five of his nine three-point field goal attempts. Welch scored his 26 points in just 28 minutes of action coming off the bench for Fontbonne. Welch also recorded a team-high three steals in the game. Welch's effort helped propel the Griffins to their first win of the season as well as earning them their first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory.
