Chism downs 4 3-pointers in Griffins' win over Greenville
St. Louis- Fontbonne University men's basketball gained another win this afternoon over SLIAC foe Greenville College. The Griffins were able to hold off the Panthers to win 78-72. Fontbonne is currently 6-11 overall and 4-4 in the SLIAC. Greenville falls to 7-10 overall and 2-6 in conference.
First half basketball was back and forth but Fontbonne was able to walk into the lockerroom leading 41-34. Greenville was able to sneak two brief 1-2 point leads in before the game was over. Fontbonne's largest lead of the game was only 9 points.
Andrew Chism reeled in 4 3-pointers on the day to give him a Griffin-high 17 points. Darius Rucker and Greg Gentry were barely behind Chism, each contributing 15 points. Gentry also assisted 8 times. The final Griffin to achieve double-digit scoring was Jared Greenlee. Greenlee accumulated 14 points and added 7 rebounds for Fontbonne.
Greenville's Jordan Smith also connected on 4 3-pointers. He walked away with the game-high 18 points. Simon Martin pulled in 11 rebounds for the Panthers.
Fontbonne travels to Westminster on Wednesday for an 8pm start time against the Blue Jays.
