Greenville, Ill. - Fontbonne men's basketball suffered a 127-96 loss on the road at Greenville College today. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak and puts the Griffins at 5-8 overall and 3-3 in conference. Greenville improved to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in SLIAC play.
Greenville jumped out to an 8-0 lead and kept up their scoring for the remainder of the game. The Griffins were able to pull within six with four minutes left in the first half but couldn't get any closer.
At one point, Ben Kissing drained his third and final three-point attempt and followed up with three consecutive rebounds for the Griffins, one offensive and two defensive. The junior forward finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Also having a big game for Fontbonne was senior Richard Dorhauer. Dorhauer tallied 14 points, five rebounds, four asissts and one steal. He shot 50% from long-range and made all six free-throws.
Tim Daniel led Greenville with 30 points while Kenney Greene followed with 28.
Fontbonne returns home for two games next week, hosting Eureka at 8 p.m. Wednesday and Principia at 2 p.m. Saturday.
