Men's Basketball falls at hands of Eureka
Jack Lake scored 22 points in the loss, making nine of his 14 field-goal attempts and all but one of five free throw attempts.
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne University men's basketball lost to Eureka today 87-58. The Griffins have not lost seven games in a row as they fall to 2-18 on the season.
Junior Jack Lake scored 22 points for Fontbonne as did Hank Thomas and Shea Feehan for Eureka. Feehan came out of the game with 13:50 left in the second half with a lower body injury and would not return. His 22 points came in 21 minutes on the court.
Freshman Zac Ridenhour made his first collegiate start for the Griffins and after Feehan opened play with a three-pointer, Ridenhour answered right back. He narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
Senior Trey Watkins recorded eight rebounds, six points and five assists in the loss while Orkan Bakis recorded a career-high five steals to go along with his seven rebounds as the Turkey native blanked in the field.
Fontbonne is on the road Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game at Principia College before returning to St. Louis for their final home game. The Griffins host Spalding University for senior day on February 11th with a 2 p.m. game start. Senior day festivities will begin roughly at 1:45 p.m.
