DeLine's And McCann's New Career-High Marks Lead Griffins Past STLCOP

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's basketball team scored a season-high 97 points in its 97-86 victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
The Griffins (2-5), shot 47.8 percent from the floor, sank 11 3-pointers, out-rebounded the Eutectics 42-28 and hit a season-high 81.5 percent (22-of-27) of its free throws.
Individually, Kris McCann netted a career-high 27 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including going 10-of-12 from the charity-stripe. Luke DeLine, a St. Louis, Missouri, native, shined with a career-high 22 points and five boards.
STLCOP (0-7), shot 52.5 percent from the field but had its struggles from the free throw line, connecting on 15 of its 23 attempts (65.2 percent). Jordan Anderson had himself a night for the Eutectics as he finished with a game-high 33 points on 11-of-15 shooting.
Ilias Kalogeropoulos went 9-of-17 to end with 23 points, while Anthony Vallejo and Uros Rogan contributed 11 and 10 points respectively.
In the first half, DeLine's 3-poitner at 14:54 mark gave them a 16-12 lead. Later, at 9:29, James Wiggins drained his 3-pointer to extend the teams lead out to 31-25. However, a 7-0 run by STLCOP over the next two minutes put them out in front at 32-31.
FBU answered right back on buckets from Wiggins and Jahmad Wilburn to take the advantage back at 35-32. The two teams went basket-for-basket the rest of the way and eventually met-up once more at 40-40 after Kalogeropoulos went 1-of-2 from the line with 1:28 to go.
The Griffins, though came down the court and DeLine made his jumper to give them a 42-40 lead. After a missed 3-pointer, FBU held for one final shot. After some quality passing, DeLine found a wide open Tristan Baker in the corner and he made his 3-pointer to make it 45-40 at the break.
In the second half, McCann's 3-pointer extended the Griffins lead out to 54-46 (16:10). The Eutectics narrowed the deficit down to two (54-52), but Fontbonne kept the Eutectics from getting the lead back as they stretched its lead to 75-58 (9:20) on Jared Woodcock's 3-pointer.
From then on, the Griffins knocked in the necessary free throws going 13-of-16 the final nine minutes of play and that allowed them to go on for the 11-point win.
The team returns to the court and SLIAC play this weekend against rival Webster. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., on Saturday.
