ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) released the 2018-19 Men’s Basketball Preseason Poll and the Griffins are picked to finish eighth.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) released the 2018-19 Men's Basketball Preseason Poll and the Griffins are picked to finish eighth.

Greenville, the reigning SLIAC Tournament Champion, hold the top spot with 75 points and five first-place votes. Westminster, who was the No. 4 seed in the SLIAC Tournament last year, are picked second after compiling 74 points and three first-place votes.

Webster comes in at No. 3 with 62 points and one first-place vote, while Blackburn ends up in fourth with 51 and one first-place vote.

This year, the Griffins bring back the likes of Kris McCann, Luke DeLine, and Jared Woodcock to lead the offense.

McCann, an O'Fallon, Mo., native, set new career-highs last season in points per game (16.7), minutes per game (32.8), and field goal percentage (42.9). His breakout game came against Greenville on Jan. 31st where he scored a career-high 40 points on 16-of-20 shooting.

DeLine, meanwhile, is coming off a 16.2 point per game average in 2017-18. He reached double-digits in points in 18 of the 19 games and shot 47.7 percent from the floor. DeLine was also a threat from downtown with a 46.9 3-point percentage.

Woodcock will be another player to keep an eye-out-for this year. In his first season with the Griffins, the Sullivan, Mo., native, compiled 11.9 points, shot 50.0 percent from the floor, and grabbed down 114 boards.

The team will also welcome 18 newcomers to the roster that'll look to make an impact for Fontbonne this year.

The Griffins get its 2018-19 season underway at home on Nov. 10th as they'll host St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Tip-off at 7 p.m.
