How It Happened
In the first half, the Blue Jays opened with a 23-16 lead at the 12:32 mark on Jaxon Althaus' 3-pointer. The Griffins answered with a 7-0 run as Jalen Wadlington's layup tied the game up at 23-23 in less than three minutes time.
From there, the two teams went back-and-forth but a bucket from Jared Woodcock with 3:16 remaining had the Griffins out in front, 38-37. The team held that marginal lead the rest of the way and went into the locker room on top, 40-38.
The Griffins shot 45.0 percent from the floor in the first and were paced by Woodcock's game-high 13 points off the bench. Jones added 11. The Blue Jays shot 34.2 percent and were outrebounded on the glass by Fontbonne, 24-17.
In the second half, the two teams trading buckets continued but at 10:02 the Griffins led 62-61 on Cody McKinney's layup. At 7:19, the Blue Jays got a bucket from Omar Wright to trail 68-67, however, the Griffins went on a 9-0 run over the next three minutes as Woodcock's tip-in basket made it 77-67.
It was all Fontbonne the rest of the way with the team connecting on 9-of-11 of its free throw attempts to go on for the five-point win.

- Anthony Jones had another strong game going 7-of-15 to finish with 23 points and eight rebounds.
- Jared Woodcock tied his season-high with 21 points and registered his first double-double on the year tying his career-high with 11 boards.
- Caden Clark also earned his first collegiate double-double with 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
- Noah Coddington finished with 10 points.
- All nine Griffins that appeared in the game registered at least two points.
Westminster Leaders
- Jaxon Althaus posted a team-high 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting.
- Ethan Thompson contributed 20 points and hit five 3-pointers.
- Emil Spriggs and Makygh Galbreath contributed 16 and 10 points, respectively.
