Men's Basketball Win Streak Gets Snapped Against Greenville, Jones Ties Single-Game Record With 47 Points

How It Happened
In the first half, the Griffins jumped out to a 24-21 lead with 13:14 remaining on Jalen Wadlington's made layup. From there, the Panthers were able to retake the lead and expanded on it out to 60-46 with 4:50 left on Eric Williams layup.
However, in four minutes and 25 seconds time, the Griffins went an incredible 24-6 run to lead 70-66 on Caden Clark's made jumper. The Panthers closed out on a 3-0 run but Fontbonne still led by one at the break.
In the first 20:00 minutes, the Griffins shot 68.1 percent from the field and dished out 25 assists. Jones already had a game-high 19 points. The Panthers, meanwhile, shot 49.1 percent from the field and connected on 12 3-pointers.
In the second half, with 16:38 remaining, Caden Clark went 1-of-2 from the line to tie it up, 81-81. Greenville once more took the lead back and at 4:47 were leading 131-118 on Austyn Contreras' 3-pointer.
Fontbonne started to chip away at the deficit and with 39.0 seconds remaining CJ Purcell made his jumper and got fouled on the play. He went on to make the free throw to put the Griffins down, 136-132.
Then, with 13.0 seconds remaining, after Greenville missed both free throws, the Griffins came down the court, Jones found Jared Woodcock in the corner and he drained the 3-pointer to tie the game up, 137-137. Greenville had one final chance for a game winner but Sontiago Grady's jumper hit back iron and it was off to OT.
In OT, Grady struck again with a 3-pointer to give Greenville a 147-143 advantage with 2:25 on the clock. The Panthers went 5-of-10 from the floor, while Fontbonne connected on 2-of-9 of its attempts and that proved to be enough with Greenville hanging on for the wild win.

- Fontbonne shot 63.5 percent from the floor and set a new season-high with 61 made field goals.
- The team pulled down a season-high 65 rebounds and set a program record with 45 assists.
- Greenville finished with a 46.6 field goal percentage and made 27 3-pointers.

- Anthony Jones led all scorers with a game and career-high 47 points on 20-of-31 shooting in just 29 minutes of action.
- Jared Woodcock recorded a double-double with 27 points and 10 boards off the bench.
- Caden Clark went 9-of-13 from the field to end with a career-high 23 points. He also pulled down seven boards and tied his season-high with nine assists.
- Jalen Wadlington came off the bench to add 13 points.
- Noah Coddington tied Woodcock with 10 boards, to go along with his seven points.
- CJ Purcell, Sean McGee, and Gus Kleekamp had eight points each. McGee tied Clark with nine assists.
Greenville Leaders
- Greenville had eight players in double-figures and were led by Grady's 27 points.
- Marvin Bateman added 20 points off the bench.
- Henry Johnson (17), Chris Jackson (16), Barry Nixon (15), Austyn Contreras (12), Riley Simmons (12), and Eric Williams (11), all reached double-figures.
