Men's Basketball Tabbed For Fifth In SLIAC Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) released the 2021-22 Men's Basketball Preseason Poll and the Griffins slide in at No. 5.
The Griffins finished the 2020-21 season 6-7 overall (3-3 SLIAC) and made it to the SLIAC Championship game for the first time since 2015. However, the Griffins fell 77-69 against top-seeded Blackburn.
This year, the Griffins bring back plenty of offensive firepower led by Anthony Jones who was named to the SLIAC All-Conference Second Team last year after averaging 17.3 points on a 50.8 field goal percentage.
Caden Clark also returns for his senior season after putting up 13.1 points on a 42.6 field goal percentage. Elijah Rice looks to take another step forward in his junior year after scoring 12.4 points per game.
The Griffins welcome in six newcomers including Kaileb Bryant, Jackson Chatman, Jamall Jones, Carlton King, Will Suellentrop, and Paul Viduolis.

The Griffins get its 2021-22 season underway on November 12th when they'll host the A-R-C/SLIAC Classic. On Friday, the team takes on Simpson followed by a 3 p.m., contest on Saturday against Buena Vista.
