Game Breakdown
Things didn't start out as planned for the Griffins with the Spartans owning a 20-5 lead at the 14:38 mark on John Yaeger's dunk.
Trailing 23-8 at the 13:58 mark, the Griffins started to get its offense rolling going on a 24-7 run over the next 8:18 to take a 32-30 lead on Elijah Rice's layup.
The two teams flip-flopped on lead changes, but the Spartans regained a 41-38 lead with 2:27 remaining. However, the Griffins finished out the half on an 11-4 run with Caden Clark's layup prior to the buzzer sounding giving Fontbonne a 49-45 advantage at the break.
Fontbonne shot an impressive 17-of-28 (60.7 percent) from the floor. Anthony Jones (11 pts), Rice (11 pts), and Clark (10 pts) were already in double-figures. Clark also dished out eight assists.
In the second half, the Spartans trimmed the deficit to 53-51 remaining on River Reed's layup. The Griffins, though continued to hold onto its lead and expanded it out to 81-69 with 5:06 left on Will Suellentrop's layup. Fontbonne never relinquished its lead the rest of the way securing the 14-point victory.

- The Spartans ended with a 47.5 field goal percentage.

- Kevin Anders provided a spark off the bench with a career-high 10 points.
