Game Breakdown
It was back-and-forth play early through the first half with Fontbonne owning a 17-14 lead at the 9:27 mark. However, the Griffins went on an 8-0 run over the next two minutes leading 25-14 on Brent Wagner's 3-pointer.
At the 4:55 mark, the Eutectics trailed 28-24 on RJ Wright's layup. The Griffins, though closed out the half on a 16-4 run leading 44-28 at the break.
The Griffins shot 53.1 percent from the field in the first half. Suellentrop led with 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting, while Caden Clark added 10.
In the second half, the Griffins led 50-34 on Anthony Jones' layup with 16:28 remaining. UHSP got the deficit down to 63-58 with 6:22 left, but the Griffins got it done from the free throw line the final six minutes and change going 13-of-14 en route to the 13-point win.
